Welcome to the website of the Canine Country Club & Cattery, Bargo NSW.

Premium care and comfortable accommodation for your beloved pet is just a click away...

OUR

KENNELS

The facilities at Canine Country Club & Cattery consist of a large masonry building with 2 separate wings for kennels, kitchen, grooming areas and reception.. The whole area is fully insulated with large, fully enclosed kennels with trampoline beds for your dog's comfort.

Unlike some facilities where dogs spend their entire stay in the one kennel, even while it is being hosed out, our visitors are able to go to different grassed exercise runs twice a day, allowing much more interaction with us and different dogs. This way they can enjoy running and playing with the others, whilst having the security of their own individual area.

Naturally this method entails more effort from us, but much more personal attention for your pet! We specialise in taking care of fussy, spoilt pets and are happy to spend time with any who are a bit anxious to help them settle in. All small dogs are exercised well away from the larger ones so that they do not feel intimidated.

We request that all dogs are kept on a program of Frontline, Revolution etc before they come here so as not to introduce any fleas. Any dog found to have fleas will be Frontlined at the owner's expense. Bitches in season will not be boarded during peak holiday times, and at other times only by special arrangement.

All dogs must have a current C5 vaccination with any boosters administered at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of boarding.

OUR CATTERY

OUR

CATTERY

Canine Country Club & Cattery have built a brand new cattery that became operational at the end of 2020 it is situated away from the main kennel block away from the sounds of large barking dogs. The separate, fully enclosed, insulated and air conditioned building has large individual internal runs as well as 6 extra large runs so cats from the same family can be kept together.

The runs have different levels to explore and windows with views of our garden on one side and our highland cow paddock on the other. Every run has its own window where they can just sit on the shelf below the window and sunbake in either the morning or afternoon sun.

All cats are fed Royal Canin and a range of fresh food at different times to tempt the fussiest palates. Special diets can be requested, and medication is not a problem.

Current F3 vaccination certificates are required, with any boosters administered at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of boarding. All cats must be desexed and on a flea program - any cat found to have fleas will be Frontlined at the owner's expense.

Bedding and climbing/scratch post is provided, however you are welcome to bring toys and bedding from home if you feel your cat would prefer these.

Meet Nicole Smith - our Owner / Manager

Nicole is an experienced veterinary nurse and has worked at the NSW Police Dog Unit for the past 11 years where her role involved management of the kennel complex, managing the puppy raising and breeding program and providing care and treatment for NSW Police Dogs

Nicole's interest in animals commenced at an early age where she commenced showing dogs when she was 10 years old. Her interests in animals wasn't limited to dogs, as she has owned horses, cats, birds and it has been said, "she couldn't drive past an animal in need without trying to adopt it".  All this eventually led Nicole  to becoming a Veterinary Nurse working at several vet clinics.

In 2005 Nicole successfully gained employment at the NSW Police Dog Unit where her skills as a Vet Nurse were utilised in the kennelling, care and welfare of NSW Police Dogs

Nicole was quickly recognised for her abilities and became instrumental in the NSW Police Dog Unit Breeding program and the subsequent raising of puppies for Police Dog Training. Nicole was also tasked with delivering lectures and providing training and education to new Police Dog Handlers.

This included:     Grooming  of Police Dogs

Care and Welfare of Police Dogs in a kennelled environment

Cleaning and sanitising of a kennel facility

Assessment of behavioural issues, injuries, illnesses  of Dogs in a kennel facility

Outside of the Police Dog Unit, Nicole's interest in animals continued where she trained and handled her own dog, a Weimaraner  'William' in Agility and Jumping trials and more recently has returned to the show ring with her Doberman Kaiser

Nicole's passion for the care and well being of animals led her to take over as the Owner and Manager of the Canine Country Club and Cattery.

Her experience in Veterinary Clinics and at the Police Dog Unit has left her with very high standards in care for guests staying at the Canine Country Club.

Nicole provides a level of care to your pet as if they were her own and finds it very rewarding when pet owners are relaxed and comfortable when leaving their beloved pets in her care
